In the spirit of recording the funny things kids say, here's one from Avery. We were at a sugar shack on Sunday for breakfast (Sucrerie du Terroir in Val-des-Monts, the same place we went last year), and then went for a quick walk to see the sap running into the buckets. When we lifted Avery up to see what was going on, she quickly annouced, "pee!" So there you have it, sap = tree pee. :)As for the sugar shack, I thought the breakfast was better last year. Since it is quite a drive, and is fairly expensive, I don't think we will be heading back there again. Anyone have suggestions for a favourite place to go? Preferably more towards the east end?

If you're looking to go East... come to the Masons! We have 6 taps (I believe) and they're flowing pretty good. Reducing it is slow, but we have 3.5 bottles in the fridge that came from our property and a couple more that are a mix of our property and my parents'. Yum!
Crazy - making your own maple syrup! We definitely have to make the trip east one of these days, though we might wait until Micaela likes TV and will be as mesmorized by the car DVD player as Avery is!
